She's movin'

We got a video of her that is 40 minutes long!!!!!!!!

I am just so in love with her. She does this head bobbing thing that looks like she is jammin' to her own rhythm that is going on inside her little mind. She is a little feisty and takes toys away. The boys have been warned! We got a smile! A small one but we saw it.

This video is going to be on repeat for the next month!

This is such a bitter sweet moment. I just want to kiss on her toes, snuggle her close to me and let her chew on my jewelry.

This girl has changed my life. She is going to be one spoiled baby girl soon.

I will try and find a way to edit it down to a five minute clip so I can share her with you.

But excuse me while I go watch the video again....

We got video

We have it, but we can't view it!

It has to be converted into a cd or dvd tomorrow. I am at work today and tomorrow. So unless I can find someone who has a camcorder who takes this type of tape then I will not get to see my girl in action until tomorrow at 8:30pm.

Say a few prayers that we find someone. Cuz this mama needs to see her girl.

EP approvals are happening for our agency. Not me, yet. My good friend Brooke got hers today. Praying we get to travel together and meet IRL. Praying for Febuary 3rd to get the announcement. I just have a little inside joke with God that it will be happening on that day.

We'll see...

But for now I want to see her movin' !

close to heaven

I am about as close to heaven as I can get right now. These were taken on 01/21/10.
I am smitten for this girl and so is Studly. Today is turning out to be an amazing day. God knew I needed this day. Studly surprised me with a massage, which I have never had before. Then we are going on a date tonight. A movie, then dinner, then another movie. Double feature!

But who really cares about all that. I know you all just want to see that girl!

orphan's dinner

*Proverbs 19:17 He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward him for what he has done*

Caring for the poor, God's people, is of importance to God thus important to us, as a family. Teaching our children how we can provide for God's people is truly one of the most effective ways to show how God's love for us can resonant to others. As Christ Followers, we do what Jesus does and we obey what Jesus says. Christ sees the need. We are to be the eyes of Christ in this broken world and we are to respond, to meet the needs of others, for this is true obedience to Christ.

With the crisis in Haiti currently, this provides an opportunity to teach our children how we, as Christ Followers, can help. What an important lesson to teach our children. Last night, Studly and I, took that opportunity to talk about the situation, to show them what is happening so close to home, and to talk about our God and His love.

Just to profess this, in our home, we normally eat with paper plates or if we really get into it, we serve the children dinner with plastic. I know, classy!

We wanted to make a statement. Show how blessed we are as a family, from God. Last night I broke out the china. The children have maybe seen it once before. But never ate on it.

This is what they saw when they came to eat dinner.

Photobucket

First we watched, an child appropriate, video about Haiti. Explaining to the children what is going on currently. The destruction, the homeless, the orphans, the lack of food, water, and shelter.

Then we sat down for dinner. We prayed. We read from the book of Mark about the Lord's last supper and taught the children about communion. The children each broke a piece of the bread to eat and had grape juice to represent God's blood shed for us.

Photobucket

Furthermore, we explained to them that we were going to eat rice and beans for dinner to represent what many orphans eat to survive. A dollar was placed at each child's plate to let them give to Haiti to help God's people.

It was an amazing time, as a family, to spend with the Lord and to teach our children a valuable lesson of life.

EP submitted

Today, we received an email stating that her EP was submitted on January 12th. Two days ago. It can take 2-4 weeks for this to be approved. So most likely looking at a late February travel call. I pray it is sooner but it most likely not.

I am just excited to know we are at least moving now and getting another step completed.

She should have her well baby check this week also. Hoping for an update on how she is developing and growing soon.

Maybe even the video I requested a month ago will turn up.

Making Progress.

Help Haiti

My fellow Christ Followers-

I am pretty sure most of you have heard of the devastating disaster in Haiti. I am heartbroken for these children and families who already live in a poor economy but now are dealing with this.

If you are feeling led to help but didn't know where you could do that. I wanted to give you a website called Compassion International. I have been following this organization and have seen their passion for God and His people.

Please go visit Compassion International by clicking HERE,

See what just $35.00 could give to a family in need.

the wait....

it's getting to me. I won't lie! Seriously, I want my baby home NOW! I have been an emotional wreck this week. These last two weeks I have been cleaning her clothes, organizing her closet and dresser, filling them with cute baby clothes, picking out what I am packing for her, putting her room together, making cute letters to hang on the walls, watching my email like a hawk for our EP approval and I am tired of waiting. Yes, I know the Lord has a perfect timing for her to come home to us. I have been praying alot. But I am tired of waiting. Honestly, I feel like a piece of me is missing, a piece of my family. I ache to hold her.

A family just got travel call today and is heading to Korea on Tuesday. They are going to see Lennox and hold her and love on her and take some pictures of her for us. So many mixed emotions are rushing through me about this. I am so excited that someone will be doing this for us and so sweet and generous of them to take the time during their trip to love on our daughter while they are there. But I won't lie, I am jealous that someone will love on her before me. Someone will get to breath in her sweet baby smell, interact with her, and take pictures of her before me. And that sucks!!! I want it to be me!!!

This adoption journey is not for the light hearted and no one fully understands the emotions I am feeling, the ache, the anxiety, the patience I strive to keep except others who are walking this journey also. It is like watching your baby through a window and not being able to touch her for 4 months. Just longing for the moment that someone on the other end will call and say you can hold her now. It hurts.

I will get through this but only with the hope and grace of God, He gives me peace knowing His timing is perfect and He will unite us when the time is right. I rest in His assurance.

But the wait is getting to me.

Its coming together...

....the girls room, slowly, but surely. Waiting on a crib to be taken from storage and painted vermont cream, to match the other furnishings. But here it is to date.

Can't wait to be snuggling, rocking, and kissing on those cheeks in her sweet girly room.

New Picture!

I am feeling spoiled with all these pictures of my girl. She is growing more hair and looks like she is enjoying her milk too. I believe, this is the Reception Center in this background. I think they are cleaning out their cribs. I spoke with one mom who's baby was at the RC and she said, "we don't call it the RC at our house anymore, it's called the Baby Spa." I loved hearing that. She is being well taken care of and I am rejoicing today for that.

Birthday Boys

Both Conlan and Hutson made their first appearances to this world on bitter cold winter nights. Hutson just 10 days shy of Christmas and Conlan just 8 days afterward. These boys got the raw end of the deal, maybe. But we have made a goal not to ever intertwine their gifts or celebration with Christ's birth.

I just love these boys!

Happy 3rd Birthday Hutson! As a three year old, you have grown to love music both vocally and instrumentally. You ask to repeat "your" song in the car and stare in "aw" when a musician comes on the TV. Your my little engineer, taking things apart and trying to figure out how they work. You love your back and feet rubbed. I love your big brown eyes and chubby cheeks. Your my little man!

Happy 7th Birthday to Conlan! Conlan you are reading at a fourth grade level and excelling in school. You are my passionate child with a heart so tender. You are so sweet to Hutson and help him to get dressed, teach him right from wrong, and ignore him when he is not being so kind to you. You love your friends and talking is your strong point. I can still remember your beautiful olive skin face when you were born.

video
I pray God will use your lives to honor Him.
Mommy loves you.
