it's sinking in

First off, Happy 8th month birthday to my baby girl! We pray we will be able to go get our baby girl before she turns 10 months old. A lot has been happening in the last few weeks with our adoption. First on Christmas Eve we found out that her P3 was sent to Korea. That is just another step in the process to getting her home. I have been corresponding with the social worker at Holt about various things that have to do with Lennox. The first was about our Emigration Permit. I found out that Lennox is at the top of the list to have her EP submitted at the first of the year. I have never been more excited about the new year. So, that is fantastic news.

And the most shocking of information that I found out is that my daughter is actually not in a foster home. When she was transferred to Seoul, Korea from her birth city which is a couple hours away from Seoul. There was not any foster families available at the time. When this happens, then Holt has a place called the Reception Center. Which is basically a little orphanage. At first I was completely shocked and sad to find out this information. However, with a little research I have found out that the RC (reception center) is actually an amazing little place. They typically only have 5-8 babies there at a time. They have 7 workers and 1 nurse. Lennox gets lots of attention and one on one time. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about the RC. Also, when adoptive parents travel they sometimes go to the RC to see the babies and even take pictures of them. I have been trying to make some contact with some parents that I know have been to the RC and find out if they have seen my daughter, loved on her, and even taken any pictures of her. The other great thing about her being there is that when we travel to Korea, Holt provides a guesthouse at a very good price per night and it is in the same building as the RC, just a few floors apart from each other. How exciting is that? Which means I will be able to spend a ton of time with her before we pick her up for good. When a baby is in a foster family, you normally only spend a hour with her and then go back another day to pick her up for good. With our situation I will be able to feed her, bathe her, put her to sleep, and be her mommy quite a bit before we even leave Korea. Which should be amazing time for her to bond to me before taking her on a 15 hour plane flight. So, this is all sinking in and I am actually thrilled.

Here is a little video I found of a woman who was adopted from Korea many years ago through Holt and she went back to Korea and spent some time at the RC. Take a look and see where our little princess is living. Lennox was actually there when Michelle went in October, to bad she didn't get video of her.

So, that is our update.

I magically fit all of those things into a gallon sized ziplock bag, rules by our agency, to ship across the world to where our baby girl awaits us.

On December 17th, we received this....

Our precious baby girl wearing her outfit, headband, tights, and chewing on her toy. With all the other items from our care package surrounding her. What a special foster mother she has to do that for us.

It would be an understatement to confess that I was crying like a baby when I saw these pictures. And it would be another understatement to confess that my husband had shed a few tears over his daughter. I'm just saying.

We also received this....

I know, can you believe how perfect, precious, adorable, beautiful little girl she is and she is all mine? I mean check out those heart shaped lips with chubby little cheeks!

She got to open her care package on Hutson's Birthday which was Tuesday. So both my babies got to open something special from their parents.

So, to celebrate, Lennox and Hutson, their life, their health, and the love I have for them.

I am going to give away one of my headbands that I have been making lately! Because I just want too.

Please forgive me for using my son to display the headbands. Believe me, I wish I had a baby girl here with me to help with the pictures.

So leave me a comment, any comment plus which headband is your favorite, and I will choose a winner sometime next week!

Good Luck!

I am trying to defeat the killer "strep throat" currently! And I have a couple of things to blog about but I am getting beat badly. Yesterday, Hutter turned three and I want to make a special post just for my precious baby boy and I also received a wonderful award from an amazing woman who needs our prayers for her little man. Would you join me in prayer for them?

So hopefully I will take revenge soon and conquer!

Two You

We have known about our baby girl for two months today.

Two months ago today I opened a file and in there were just two pictures of a precious newborn baby that I now love so deeply it aches because she is not here with me. She is being well cared for by a wonderful lady in a very nice home. I can rest easily at night knowing God has placed her in that home until we are able to go get her. I worship my Lord tonight for you.

To my baby girl, Lennox Shyla Yujin-
I thank God for you. I praise His name for your life. I pray for your birth mother that she will find the Lord's grace, love, and faithfullness knowing He can heal her loss and grieve. I pray she can rest easy tonight knowing that her daughter will be in a beautiful home with a mother and father her love her unconditionally. Lord, place your protective hands over our daughter who you have given to us to care for while here on this earth. We know she is a gift from You that You have given to us to love her, care for her, and most importantly teach her of Your name. I pray she comes home to us soon and she will know the depth of our love for her. I pray for the children of this world, the orphans, that you will stir the hearts of Your people to care for them. Be compassionate for them. Lord, the blessing and miracle of adoption has changed my life and I praise You for Lennox.

Psalm 145 1-9
I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts. They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works.

They will tell of the power of your awesome works, and I will proclaim your great deeds. They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness. The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.

EP & Hearing

The Korean government only approves a certain amount of Emigration Permits per year. Once the Korean adoption agencies hit their quota of EP (Emigration Permits) for the year, then they have to wait until the first of the year to have more approved. Lennox did not receive her EP before our agency hit their quota. Which means, she will not receive her EP until atleast the beginning of the year. This will most likely prolong our travel call and prolong her coming home to us. We are saddened by this news but we also know that God's timing is perfect and He will bring her home when it is time.

Lennox had another hearing test in November. The results say she does not respond in both ears. Meaning she has profound hearing loss. We need her home as soon as possible so that we can begin the therapies and medical interventions that she needs to help her with her hearing and speech development. We pray that hearing aids or cochlear implants will assist her with her development. I pray God will allow her to be able to hear in this world and be able to communicate through speech.
