Many have heard about the new book club Angie Smith is putting together. Her blog readers have chosen "Crazy Love" to begin this amazing and wonderful club. I decided to jump on board. I have never done a book club, don't even read books except The Bible and my children's books. However, I want to dig deeper, search harder, gain knowledge and passion and love for the Lord who has created EVERYTHING! Do you get that? EVERYTHING! My mind can not even grasp the multitude of His existence and what He has created. However, I am trying and as I begin to read this book my heart has fallen more in love with the God that I want to worship and live for daily. I sure have fallen short, thought more about myself, sat comfortable in my home that is furnished, a closet of clothes, two bathrooms to choose from to use, ate at McDonalds this week without thinking twice, and bought new clothes for the children to start school. My selfish sinful nature of want and wealth has withered away my relationship with God. I am an imperfect person living a life that is far from the life God has chosen for me. All I am is a filthy rag washed clean by the grace of God because of his love for me. This world is not about me or you, it is about the God who loves us, controls us, moves us, directs us, who is with us at all times. This book Crazy Love will stir your heart to live out your life the way God has intended you to live. It will move you and make you think about what your short life here on Earth is meant for. God created you, He knew who before you were made and you have purpose.
Many, including myself, question God. Who are we to question Him. We don't even know what tomorrow will bring for us or if we will even be here for it. But our God holds the timeline to each one of you, He knows what tomorrow will bring. He knows exactly what your day will look like tomorrow. Yet, we think we can question Him!
I know one question that many of us ask is this... Why doesn't God stop the hunger, poor, homeless in this world? He could just stop it since He is in control. Don't you think God wants us to stop the starvation and death of innocent children? To show love and grace to those who do not know Him. By doing so, we are being drawn closer to Him. We are His disciples. God uses us to bring the lost to Him. Us, as Americans, are rich compared to this world. Yet, day after day, I hear people say "I am broke or poor!" We have hardened our hearts with wealth and money. Have you honestly looked at what all you have? Lets compare ourselves to the rest of this world by taking a minute and reading the words of this amazing woman who lives in Uganda at the young age of 20 years old. She is truly living out the life that all of us, who call ourselves Christians, should strive and want to live. Her blog is the greatest example of Crazy Love and the act of living for God. Are you giving God everything you have or just your leftovers? Just the last few minutes before falling asleep or whatever is left after paying bills, eating out, buying clothes, getting that morning latte? God, is my Father, the Father, of us all. He longs for a relationship with you, to love Him, talk to Him, be passionate for Him and to go into the world and show others what He has given you.
This book Crazy Love is changing my life. I would encourage everyone to dig in, get your feet wet, think about the life that you are living. This life here on Earth is not about how big your house is and how much money you make because when you die is means nothing. Do you want to be known for the earthly things of this world or for the love and passion you have for God and for His people? To be remembered for the impact you left by your actions and how much you gave for God. Is it the life that God has called for you to live? Are you truly in love with God, with all you heart, mind, and soul?
Think about it...Pray about it...Do something about it...

Ethnic Enrichment
This is a conversation that happened tonight during bedtime.
Con and I are in his room talking before bedtime.Con has We have been talking a lot lately before bed. He is so sweet and I have been enjoying his grown up conversations.
Studly from Con's doorway "Honey can you rub my back when we are done putting the kids to bed?"
Con: "I will rub your back, daddy"
Me: "That is so sweet of you Con!"
Con: Mommy, Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved Him and everytime Peter replied Yes Jesus. God forgave Peter because he lied and said that He did not know Jesus. I am showing love today three times. Do you know how?
Me: How, Honey?
Con: "I made a picture of our baby sister in Korea because I love her. I forgave Jax for yelling at me and I gave him a second chance to be my friend."

This is Baby L or Baby J created by Con.
Official, Proud Mommy Moment!
On friday night, Con and I had our "date night" I am trying to make this a tradition with him. As long as he lets me. I don't think I will get screaming and hugs and excitement when I mention date night to him when he is 16. I could dream though. I am good at those, lately!
We went to a family game place, his choice, of course. We ate dinner, played video games, toss balls for ski ball, knocked teeth out of a horse, raced cars, rode go-carts, and lots of other games. We spent two hours there and then came home and played in his room together for the rest of the night. I love the quality time with him and have cherished those moments. I pray he remembers these too.
Saturday night, we went to the Ethnic Enrichment Festival. This is our first time to go to this yearly event downtown. We plan on making this a family tradition for years to come. They had food from almost every country on Earth. We wanted to go mainly for the Korean enrichment however we found ourselves enjoying many other countries.

We ate Korean, Serbia, Brazil, Columbia, Italian and Morocco food.

The kids ran around in a large gravel pit with other children and we listened to some music playing on stage. It was a great experience and fun to try all the different types of food that this world has to offer.
The boys both got fake passports to have stamped as we went to the different countries. That was the funnest part for them. They ran from one country to another trying to collect as many stamps as possible.

And then there was two
Now that Con is in school all day increasing his knowledge getting in trouble for talking, that just leaves Hutter and I to frolic and play together throughout the days as we please. Con is enjoying school and I will get to meet his teacher on Monday for parent's night.

Hutter and I have been busy cutting his hair, getting labs drawn to find out what he is allergic to, eating candy, taking morning walks and afternoon naps, playing with his cousin, going to garage sales, getting unexpected phone calls, pooping in the toilet, spilling a whole cup of water on himself and his carseat, and meeting daddy for lunch.
Before haircut

After haircut. Which I cut, while he ate a sucker and watched Toy Story. Cutting hair and a sucker don't really mix well but, hey, you have to do what you have to do.

playing camera tag is his new favorite game. I try to take pictures and he runs, laughs, and try to hide!

"Please check contents for accuracy" Yep, accurate as it can get! I will keep him. Thanks!

Tired after being chased and tagged several times. He can't hide from me!

Can you guess what he is trying to hide behind?

An Unexpected Call
We received a call about a baby girl referral with some special needs. Unfornuately, we felt that her prognosis was too unknown at this time to feel we could take this referral.
We are grieving this loss and it was so hard to make this decision. We came to the Lord about this baby girl and we feel our decision is right at this time. We want a special needs baby because we feel so compassionate about the children out there especially with some medical needs. However, with our four beautiful children that we have right here to care for that still need our love, attention, relationship, and time, we felt that this referral would not allow for us to be parents to all of our children equally.
The good side to this is "wow we got a call!" It makes it so much more real. I told the social worker that she better be calling us again soon. We really are getting a baby girl soon or someday soon!

A Dream
I had a dream last night that we got our referral call on 2/13/2010. She had lots of black hair and big eyes. She was beautiful. Will it come true? I wanted to post it just for a reference in case God was telling me something. You know because He is awesome like that. It was such a great experience. Why did I have to wake up and have a reality check at 3 in the morning. Sheesh!
I am working today and missing church. The only reason why I am okay with that is because I feel like my job is necessary. As a nurse you have to be here to care for the patients. In my case, the beautiful babies God created.
It's quiet here today and its raining cats and dogs. Glad I am stuck inside for the next 12 hours.

Boy, I love this Boy
I just love this little boy...

He is so sweet and tender. He even has a small little dimple. Okay no one but his mommy can see it but I know it is there.
He is so obedient. When I call him, he says " yes mommy" and comes running to me. Tonight I asked him to put the two pair of shoes away that were in the kitchen. I figured he would throw them into the hallway bin that holds way to many shoes that never get placed back in the closest. I was wrong. He ran into my closet and put my sandals away and then ran, literally like he was racing, into Con's room and put his shoes away. He came running out with the biggest smile, he knew he had done a great job. I, of course, acknowledged his success with a high five and way to go. So sweet!
He loves to swing

but he his NOT a dare devil. He breaths more on the cautious side of life. Today we went to Chuck E Cheese. He struggled to climb up the play set and then once he succeeded he was too scared to climb through the tunnels or go down the slide. Poor little man crying and stuck up in the tunnels, so mommy had to climb up there to get him down! Those are not made for adults, just so you know for future reference. He also is not very fawned of slip n slides. He had been around two this summer and refuses to go on it. Daddy thought it would be fun to send him down the slip n slide with a little helping hand. Crying was involved!
however, this child has thrown me for a loop. He is very mischievous, gets into everything, and when I mean everything this is what I mean
green acrylic paint on bedroom floor carpet and in his hair
pink acrylic paint on hallway carpet and in his hair
glitter glue on the floor and in his hair
white out in his hair and foot and face (WD40 is the cure for white out, FYI)
complete tub of hair gel in his hair
washing his hair with hand soap in the toilet, naked! (I have this in video however I can not figure out how to edit the nudiness. We have sent this video into AFM because family and friends have insisted it will win the $10,000) It is hilarious!
and this yesterday

This would be a whole tub of lotion. Yes all over my bed and him and his hair!
Do you see the similarity in all these? Yes his Hair! The child is obsessed with his hair!
Boy, I love this boy.
The other night he snuck out of his room and climbed into our bed without us knowing. When I went into our room, I found this snuggled in our bed.

Mary Kay
I love getting all dolled up for a evening out or church or a fun get together with friends. Through the years, I have only worn Mary Kay cosmetic products. My mother was a director in Mary Kay many years ago when I was just a chubby little girl (years I really do not want to reminisce about). I loved trying on all my mom's products and that is where the love for make up began!
In the recent years I have become a Mary Kay consultant. Not to sell the products and make a career from it but to be able to buy the products for myself and my family who still enjoy their wonderful make-up and skin care products.
This last week, I was able to reconnect with my Mary Kay director who lives in Texas now. She came to town to see some family and meet up with some old friends. My director is a good friend of my mothers and I grew up around her. My mother and I met up with her one afternoon last week and that got me thinking. She was showing us some of the new products they have and they are so much fun. They have a neat romance line that reminds me of the 50's with the little pink powder puff and powder. They also have some new lotions and body wash that are amazing!
Well, in my quiet time with the Lord, I have been praying about ways to bring income in that would exclusively go towards our adoption expense. I think I have found it! It was right ON my nose the whole time. Ha Ha get it. I was wearing it on my nose! I know I am lame at jokes. But Yeah at least I tried!
So, the point of this story is this. If you would love to purchase any Mary Kay products or have questions regarding their products I would love to assist you. Like I said I have used it my entire life. Many people tell me I have great skin and I believe it is because of Mary Kay. Something else that I love about Mary Kay is the company has a strong believe in our Lord. The lady, Mary Kay, who started the company many years ago and has since passed on, believed in our Lord and used Him to build the company to what it is today.
They have some really great products for the fall line and I would love for you to check it out. I even have a personal Mary Kay website that you can see by clicking here or visiting my sidebar. It is located under the Adoption Timeline on the right side of my blog. You can order on my website and I will send you the products directly to your home.
Come on ladies I know we all love a little makeup and they also have products for men these days. My hubby wears their cologne and MMmm he can hardly pry me away in the mornings when he leaves for work. Or maybe that is just because I am so in love with him. Whatever!

Baby J or L with a twist?
Some of you may have noticed we have been calling our baby girl "baby J" We have a name picked out and we are attempting to keep it a top secret until our referral and we see her beautiful face for the first time. However, the secret has been released to a few individuals who have begged and pleaded with their life to know the name. You know (and maybe you don't)I love names and in my opinion my children have really cool names. You can beg to differ but most of you don't even know their IRL names so just trust me. I have baby naming skills!
So, In accordance with life pleading attempts to find out our secret name I have devised a plan. I have attached "spill the beans" detectors directly to the individuals, who names I can not release at this time, who have been given this top secret information, with my McGyver skills I might add. So watch out!
UPDATE: I have received some bad news. My "spill the beans" detector has gone off and the baby J's name has been released to someone unknown at this time. I have put together a search team, in 5.8 seconds exactly, to find this individual and justice will be served.
In attempts to keep our name top secret, I have devised a plan to have a new name in place. It is cool, sweet, unusual! I love it and so does my Studly. And that is all that really matters, right? Well, I pray she likes it too. But if not, she can choose to be called by her Korean middle name.
Anyways, that is besides the point.
So, "Baby L" could be our sweet baby's name too.
And no one will know until that day comes (in two years or something like that) which by then no one will really care what the name is because she is just going to be the cutest little thing ever and you will just want to look at her sweet face.
So, there you have it. It could be Baby J or Baby L.
UPDATE: This individual has not been caught at this time (which is approximately 60 seconds after I put the search team together) but we are working on it and hope to have some good news very soon
FYI: My spill the beans detector is fiction, no animals were harmed in the making of this story!
Wow, it is late, I am kind of delirious! Goodnight all!

Busy and can't complain
I600A Approved this last week. I600A is submited to the USCIS (Homeland Security) to petition for an orphan. Man, they are fast. I hope they are this fast when we receive our referral (in two years) and need our I600 approved. Did other adoptive families get their's approved this fast? We got our appointment to get fingerprinted within a week after we sent in the application. Our appointment was for any Wednesday but due to work schedules did not make it until about a month later. I am praying for speedy service next time and they were extrememly friendly.
We had a fun filled weekend.
My grandmother came to stay for the weekend to go to a family wedding. We had a good time and I loved the idea for the centerpieces. The women of the church each made a cake, each different, and that was on the tables. So, your table cut your own cake and could go to another table and try their cake. There was atleast 20 different cakes to try. I only tried three but all of them were deliciously moist and deluctible.
This is Studly and I on our way to the wedding.

(Oh, how I love this man. He still gives me butterflies)

Hutter dressed up with his hands in his pocket. What a little man.

Us at the wedding. Con was not able to come because he was with his dad this weekend.

My brother, SIL, and niece.

GG caught the bouquet. Please Lord don't let her be the next to get hitched. Lord have mercy on me!

I made my first baby blanket for our Baby J. It is adorable and I plan to take it with us to Korea or send it in the care package. Do you think I would get it back when we go to Korea to get her? I am trying to come up with a creative outlet while I wait for our baby to come home. With Con being in school all day and Hutter still taking 3-4 hour naps for me in the afternoon. I will have some time to sew, create, imagine and I really enjoyed making this blanket. Mmm...maybe?

We went to Ice Age 3D with the children, they had a blast. Don't you think this could be an advertisement. Con with his 3D glasses and massive popcorn.

We had some family over for dinner. The adults played Scattergories that I got from a garage sale for 50 cents! HeHe! I did not win though, bummer. I need to work on my Musical groups category.
Also, Studly and I are members of a very large church and instead of Sunday School we have small groups that meet at a home. There is a leader of the small group and usually the meeting and fellowship take place in the leader's home. Around 8 months ago, Studly had mentioned starting a small group in our home. I was unsure of the idea because of the responsibility on our part. I would have to clean our home every week for it and when I was working nights I was tired and unwilling to make that committment. Well, after much prayer and talking we have decided to take on the challenge. We are going to have a small group for adoptive/foster families. Which 8 months ago, we would not have done that type of group. We feel God leading us in that direction and His timing is perfect. We are excited to take on that type of role and leadership and being apart of a small community with other adoptive families.
We have been busy as usual in the Cole house and I can't complain!
