Friday Fitness N Health on Sunday

Ways to have Time for Exercise!

So, you say you don't have time to exercise.
...I work
...taking care of the house and children
...my husband is needy
...my children need my attention
...I AM BUSY!

Well, here are some quick fun ideas to get some exercise into your day.

1. When you wake up and get out of bed...bend over and touch your toes, do some stretching

2. When loading the washer and dryer instead of bending at the waist, squat each time you grab a load of clothes from the washer and put into the dryer.

3. Each time you pass the stairs, go up and down them once

4. Dance with your children ( I do this once a week if not more as my 45 minute cardio and this is great quality time)

5. Waiting for something in the microwave or water to boil. Do jumping jacks!

6. Run around the house with the children. We play tag or sock wars (I know everyone has a large miscellaneous amount of socks without a pair, make a knot in them and throw them at one another) together. So fun!

7. Mow the lawn or gardening(the husband will love you!)

8. In the shower, work your calfs, lift up and down on your toes!

9. Do lunges up and down your hallway instead of walking.

10. On the floor playing, lift your youngest up and down. Great arm workout! You could try the oldest if you really wanting too!

Be creative and find ways to excerise during your daily activites. You will be amazed how many EXTRA calories you burn a day by incorporating them in!

Have any other ideas, for me, let me know! I want to hear them!

Truly Amazing

I found this blog tonight while at work. I am in awe of this very young woman who is truly living for God. She is a 20 years old...Yes 20! Who has started Amazima Ministries in Uganda. She lives there and is a MOM to many orphaned children. She cares for them, feeds them, bathes them, takes them to the hospital when needed, and teaches them of our Awesome God! My heart longs for her spirit, she is truly an inspiration. Click here to visit her blog and that will direct you to her website also. I pray that each and everyone of you take a moment to glimpse into her life. She has truly given up everything to care for the poor!

God longs for us to care for the orphaned children, the poor, the widows. To live for Him. Our adoption is our way of living for God. To glorify Him, to obey His word, and to love an orphan as He has loved us. We are stepping way outside our comfort zone, trusting solely on God to lead us through this adoption every step of the way. It's scary yet so rewarding! I literally jump for joy, get giddy inside, and praise My God when I think about soon traveling to Korea to bring a precious baby home to love and teach about our Loving Father.

Tonight as I read this blog. My desire is to do more. I don't need a nice car, lots of clothes, jewerly to go with every outfit. I don't want those things. I want to give to Him, give to those in need, and live for Him. I am only here on Earth once and my heart is aching for those in need.

Every morning when I wake. I ask the Lord, what can I do today to glorify you. I surrender to you and I am listening, please speak to me! Today, He has spoken loud and clear. Now I have to make the choice to obey.

How is God speaking to you?

Not Me! Monday

Update... our dear friend MckMama needs our prayers right now, her Stellan is in the hospital with SVT a very high heart rate! He was sick in utero with SVT but since then was healed by our Lord. Please click here to see her updates!

Good Monday Morning! WARNING!! This Not Me! Monday may include one of the funniest most embarrassing disappointing mommy mishaps in the history of my Not Me's. So with further a do...

Con did not loose his fourth tooth this week, but if he had then this next event most certainly did not take place....

The tooth was placed in a ziplock bag and placed under the pillow. It did not take three nights to finally place that tooth under the pillow. Who would ever forget to do that. So yesterday morning when I woke up to my son next to me this conversation did not take place.

Con "Mommy I bet you are wondering how much money the tooth fairy placed under my pillow?"

Me (With a moment of shock did not respond) "How much Honey"

Con "NOTHING! My tooth is still there!"

Me "REALLY...maybe the tooth fairy could not open the ziplock bag. She is probably to small to get it open!"

Con "You think mommy" With a disappointment tone in his voice! Maybe I should put it in something she can open?

Me "I'm sorry honey she couldn't get your tooth, we will find something to put it in tonight!"

I did not fall asleep at 8:30pm that night and did not wake up to transform into the tooth fairy! And I definitely would not admit this on my blog because I would never forget to do that! (Sheesh)

Photobucket

We are not preparing for our Spring Cleaning Garage Sale Extravaganza by helping my mom clean out all her stuff and I would definitely not put a old portable camper toilet in the sale. No one would ever buy that!

I did not have to make this next statement multiple time this week...

"Hutter please put your penis back in your pants!"

Please, that is just ridiculous, why would he be doing that!
Why would I once again admit this on my blog?!

And to end on a more sweeter note...
I did not find this on Sunday morning...

Photobucket

Con was not reading books to Hutter quietly in his room all snuggled together!

Brotherly Love just makes a Mom's heart melt!

If you want to join in on this brutally honest post then head on over to the Ringmaster MckMama's blog!

Gold Digger on Ellen Show...Help me get in it!

Do you watch Ellen? I do I am in love with her funny crazy show. It makes me laugh daily!

Well, if you watch religiously like I do then you have heard of the Gold Digger. If you haven't heard then let me explain!

The Gold Digger is a machine that they are sending around the country and going to various homes. You get inside the machine and it blows the cash around and you try and grab as much as you can in 30 seconds!

You can email into Ellen and ask to be in the Gold Digger. Well my crazy self just emailed her! I told her about our adoption and we needed help with the expenses! I know I'm crazy but she just might pick me you never know.

Well, I thought if you want to join in on my crazy idea that you could email Ellen and tell her how much she should come to Kansas!

I gave her my blog address. So maybe leave me a comment on here and tell the Ellen Show how she should come to my house!

Help me get in the Gold Digger!

Healthy Snacking....MMMmmm GOOD!

Here are some great quick healthy snacks to get you through the day. For your snacking pleasure be sure to only eat 200 calories or less. I eat three meals a day with two snacks.

Each meal, I eat approximately 300 calories and my snacks are 200 calories which equals 1300cals/day

Here are my top snacks

1. Hard boiled egg. I boil eggs on Sunday for the week and keep them in a container in the frigerator for the week. The kids also love them!

2. Toast or Celery and Peanut Butter

3. 10 almonds (Yup, count em out! It's important) and a handfull of craisins

4. Carrots (handfull of baby) and 3 ounces Hummus

5. Fruit and yogurt

6. Smoothies (1cup skim milk, frozen fruit, ice, and I throw in protein powder)

7. Crackers and Cheese (I eat the Laughing Cow cheese and 10 Wheat Thins)

8. Cottage Cheese (1 cup)

9. Any raw fruit or veggies

10. Popcorn (low calorie no butter) I like it with paprika

Photobucket

As you can see I split my snack with the children. So half the crackers, cheese, orange, and egg! Great variety full of protein and vitamins!

Happy Snacking!

Knee Deep

We received our second set of paperwork today via email. This paperwork is all the personal information we have to write about for our home study. So, we will be knee deep in writing the next couple of weeks. It really doesn't seem like too much but I just want to fill it out with a lot of thought and depth and honesty.

After this is complete, then we will have the social worker come to our home for a few visits. She will then complete the home study and put it all together.

A month ago, I had scheduled an appointment for the doctor to look at something. The day of the appointment the office called me and said they had made a error and double scheduled me with someone else. I gladly rescheduled my appointment for March 23rd. The ironic part of this is I need to get lab work done and a physical for our home study. I did not have the paperwork for the doctor to fill out until today. If I would have gone to that appointment I would have had to go back for all of this information. I would have had to pay my copay again and make time out of our crazy life to go to the doctor again.

That little bump in the road a couple of weeks ago was the Presence of God watching over me. He saved me time, money, and headache. When you let go of the control in your life and realize that God has the wheel and begin to see His work in your life then you realize how mighty our God is.

So, I may not be posting very much in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned....

Under the Weather

Sorry I did not post my Friday Fitness N Health! I have been sick the last few days and my brain is not functioning properly right now. But if you need any ideas for losing weight well come on over to my house and catch what I have! Stomach flu! I have hardly eaten anything the last three days and let me just say...my bowel has been cleansed!

Also, we are cleaning out the garage, basement, and closets for our Spring Cleaning Garage Sale Extravaganza to raise money for our adoption. Our family members are joining in on the fun and I am so thankful for all of them for donating items and pitching in to help. I will talk more about that in the weeks to come.

I am hoping to be back to "NORMAL" soon! But I am going to go and enjoy my family this wonderful Sunday. It's mid 60's outside and all the children are playing outside. They have the neighbor kids over and trying to play a game of baseball in our backyard! Oh, how I love the Spring weather showing itself!

Signs to Know He is ready....

Disclaimer...these events did take place in the privacy of our home however the uncertainty of not exactly knowing where the camera was when this actually occurred, these pictures may have been reenactments persuaded by the photography specifically for this blog post.

Do you ever ponder if your youngest is ready to be a big brother or sister? Do you think "should we really introduce another baby into the family?"

Here are sure tell signs that the "baby" of the family is ready to step to the next place in line.

First...

He wants his teddy bear swaddled like a baby and pats his bottom (as hard as he can) as soft and tender as possible holding him tight against his chest with a loving look in his eyes.

Second...

He proceeds to feed the baby a sippy cup showing you he can give his little sister a bottle someday too.

Photobucket

Third...

He creates a man-made or boy-made stroller for his baby to push around the house showing you he can push the stroller around the mall while shopping for unnecessary clothing for the children.

Photobucket

Fourth...

Everyone knows that babies need baths. So, the youngest soon to be middliest demonstrates how he would wash the baby. The bathroom sink and the hand wash will do just the job!

Photobucket

Fifth...

All babies need deodorant! Wait, maybe he is trying to show he can lather the baby with lotion. Yep, that has to be it!

Photobucket

So, now you will know when the time is right for a new child to join the family!

Hutter's ECHO results

Praise God. His heart is perfect! Now, no more mommy worrying! He started to cry during the ultrasound and so they could not get all the pictures they wanted. But with his oxygen level and his EKG being normal there is no real concern. The doctor stated that sometimes there can be peripheral cyanosis but that can be normal to some extent and it is not due to a heart defect. So, we are just to continue to monitor him but that it is not a big concern.

Not Me! Monday

Here we go again. This morning I am off to MOPS and very excited to hear some wonderful woman speak about how God has blessed them and changed their lives. Their may be a few tears involved at this meeting, but POWERFUL!

But I can not make you wait to hear my crazy week. Seriously, I think God knows I participate in this weekly and ALLOWS these funny, scary, crazy things to happen to me. I know he enjoys this day as much as WE do!

So, once again if you have NOT participated in this weekly habit of being brutally honest and would like to take the plunge them hop, skip, jump, or just click on over to MckMama's blog to join in and find others that God is giggling at too.

My first scare was not having Hutter walk out into the living room with a plastic bag over his head! YES, you did not hear me! A plastic bag. What happened to baby proofing your home and protecting your child from suffocating themselves. He did not make me almost have a heart attack right here on the couch. If this would have actually occurred, how would I have saved him?

Oh wait, it gets better....

I did not find Hutter in the bathroom with the water facet on. Well, what is so bad about that, you say! The water was not assisting him with washing my cell phone! Another heart attack! Which means I did not have to go and buy a new cell phone that morning, buying the cheapest one because I refused to not spend a hundred dollars on a phone. TAKE NOTE...I did not ask the employee at AT&T several times if my phone was broken before spending the money on another one.

So, a few days later I did not turn my OLD phone on and to my astonishment did not find it working perfectly!

Since all of us mothers out there have so much time on our hands to clean while doing a hundred other tasks in our lives. This next event most certainly did not take place in my very own home.

Let me just preface this with the following, all the children have assigned themselves to specific chairs at the table for eating. So...

While participating in a crafty activity at the table the other day I had not chosen to sit in Con's chair. But if I had, I mostly certainly did not get my hair stuck to the back of the chair from all the food particles that had magically attached themselves there! Nope not me!

We did not absolutely start this last week.

Hutter is not doing wonderful with this easy fantastic way to potty training that I unquestionably did not learn from the one and only MckMama. If you would like to learn this potty training, 101 MckMama's style then click here.

However, there is one little problem that we have encounter with this method. Before stripping him from the waist down, he would not have multiple BMs a day. Well, his BM is not fond of landing in the toilet. So, he was not completely constipated.

Yesterday, he did not moan and groan and lay around all day. Like he was developing a flu bug. I did not check his temperature multiple times trying to figure out what was wrong with him. But finally realizing he was stopped up! So, I did not proceed to give him a glycerin suppusitory. Let me just say he is not good to go now! And our house did not need a little candle lit afterwards!

This did not entertain Hutter for an hour the other day. A blanket and a hamper.

Man, am I not creative or what!

Have a wonderful start to your week!

Friday Fitness N Health

Here we go, the first post on the new series I promised I would start. Are you ready to take this step to a new you, feeling energized, losing weight, getting toned, or just trying to be a little healthier?

I wanted to start the series off with what I think is the most important key aspect to begin weight loss.

YOUR EATING!

Good news...you can be lean for life and still enjoy your food! This is not a diet. This is not putting chemicals (aka PILLS) in your body to lose 10 pounds in a week or spending hundreds of dollars on weight loss plans.

This is about making a lifestyle change, making better choices, and deciding that this is what I want for my life!

So, today we are going to look at calories...

How much do I eat?

Here is a simple way to calculate your daily calorie intake to lose 1 lb. per week

Add a zero to your body weight 150 + 0 = 1500
Add 20% for extra daily activity + 300
Daily caloric rate = 1800
Subtract 500 calories a day -500
By eating 500 calories a day or by burning
500 calories through exercise
Total =1300

However, never go below 1200 cals/day.

It is so simple but it works, this is all I did to start!

Next week, I will become more specific on ways to count calories and what specifically to eat.

I don't want to over load you on your first day!

Door to Door Organics

http://www.doortodoororganics.com

I have found the pot of gold or should I say pot of fruit and I am so excited to share. There is a business that will deliver ORGANIC fruits and vegetables to your door. No JOKE!

You can have them deliver weekly or biweekly.

Here is the SCOOP on the goods

You sign up on their website and choose the kind of produce you would like, the size of basket, and how often you would like the delivery.

Once you sign up they will send you an email weekly with the selection for the basket that next week. You can chose to take it, pass that week, or swap some produce for something else you like.

They we deliver your basket to your front door and then the next week you place your basket out for them. AMAZING!

Okay, your probably thinking this is ridiculously expensive. NOT! Believe me!

Currently we spend approximately $30.00/week on produce and the basket we chose is the bitty size which actually has quite a few items for $26.00. Plus, the fun part is you get a variety every week, something a little different. I don't know about you but when I buy produce it is the same thing every time.

Here is an example of the bitty box size-
Item: Quantity:
Assorted Apples 4
Avocado 2
Bananas 4
Danjou Pears 4
Kiwi 2
Navel Oranges 4
Royal Mandarin 4

Another great part about this company is there is no committment, you can choose to cancel at any time!

This particular company is in the following states, Colorado, Kansas City, Michigan, and the East States. I have not looked into other states but I bet you can find a delivery service anywhere!

If you know me personally and live around me go check out their website. If you choose to sign up give a little shout out to who sent you there. I think we may get a FREE basket!

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Last week I took a sweet little break from Not Me's! I don't want you all to get to excited over my brutally honest self that I have become.

But, to start up again is, to say the least, is AMAZING, NOT REALLY!

When I got off of work Wednesday morning, I most certainly did not go buy a dozen donuts before heading home to sleep. I most certainly did not shove four donuts into my mouth as quickly as possible so I could collapse in bed to receive my four hours of peace before awakening to chaos!

I did not almost have a complete melt down panic attack when driving home from work in a blizzard on Saturday morning. Lack of sleep and snow covering the highway do not mix well!

I did not allow the kids to jump on the bed crazy style because one of them or both could fall off and get a concussion, break a leg, or hurt the furniture. Nope not Me!

I am still not completely sore from my first yoga class FOUR days ago. Seriously, how long does it take to feel NORMAL again!

I am not completely in love with my Studly who is absolutely not amazing!

Join along and find peace and comfort in being brutally honest with yourself and living to tell about it!
